1. The grievance of the petitioners in the present writ petition is the inaction on the part of the respondents in not conducting DPC for promotion from the post of Training Officer to the next higher post of Training Superintendent.

2. According to the counsel for the petitioners, all the petitioners herein had become eligible for being considered for promotion to the post of Training Superintendent in the year 2019, however, the Department has not convened DPC for the said post for a considerable period of time and as on 01.04.2020, there were more than 124 posts lying vacant. The further contention of the counsel for the petitioners is that as per the circular of the State Govt. itself there has to be a DPC convened at least annually for filling up of all the posts of Training

Superintendent lying vacant in the Department.

3. Given the limited relief that the petitioners have sought for, the writ petition at this juncture can be disposed of directing the respondent no.1 to take an appropriate decision so far as filling up of the post of Training Superintendent under the respondents is concerned. Let a decision in this regard be taken within a period of 90 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
