The petitioner seems to be aggrieved by the action on the part of the respondents in abruptly discontinuing the contractual engagement of the petitioner.

According to the petitioner, he has been working on contractual basis with the respondents since March, 2003 onwards and his contractual engagement has been regularly extended from time to time. However, abruptly now the services of the petitioner has been discontinued. 3.

The contention of the petitioner is that there were in all 35 Doctors in the Ayurved Department working on contractual basis in District

Raigarh and of which 34 Doctors have been granted extension except for the petitioner and no reason whatsoever has been assigned for the discontinuance. It is the further contention of the petitioner that he has already preferred a representation to the respondents No.2 to 4 in this regard.

Considering the fact that the substantive nature of appointment of the petitioner was on contractual basis and the representation that he has preferred is already pending consideration before the authorities, let the respondents No.2 to 4 take an appropriate decision on the representation of the petitioner within a period of 45 days from the date of receipt of the copy of this order in terms of the circular of the State Government issued granting liberty to the Department to extend the services of contractual Doctors.

With the aforesaid observations, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
