The grievance of the petitioners in the present writ petition is the inaction on the part of the respondents in not considering the promotion of the petitioners from the post of Plant Attendant GradeII to the post of Plant Assistant Grade-II. 2.
According to the petitioners, all of them are eligible for being considered for promotion in terms of the circulars governing the field. However, the respondents have not initiated any step for filling up the post of Plant Assistant Grade-II and as per the information available with them, there are 498 posts still lying vacant with the respondents.
Given the limited grievance that the petitioners have prayed for, the writ petition at this juncture can be disposed of with a direction to the respondents 3 to 5 to decide the representation of the petitioners so far as the issue of granting of promotion to the petitioners from the post of Plant Attendant Grade-II to the post of Plant Assistant Grade-I is concerned. Let the representation of the petitioners be decided by the respondents 3 to 5 at the earliest preferably within a period of 120 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
