1. The only grievance that the petitioner has is that the petitioner's claim for compassionate appointment is still pending consideration before the authorities inspite of the fact that the petitioner had promptly applied for compassionate appointment on death of his father which took place on 17.01.2007.

2. The counsel for the petitioner referred to two correspondences made by the higher officials in the police department dated 31.12.2011 and also 26.06.2012 wherein they had taken a decision that the claim for compassionate appointment of the petitioner shall be considered after the outcome of the criminal case pending against the petitioner before the criminal court of law and on receipt of the Character Certificate. The petitioner further referred to the judgment dated 23.01.2018 passed by the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Bilaspur in criminal case No.1604/2014

-2whereby the petitioner has been acquitted from the charges levelled against him.

Given the facts that the petitioner now stands acquitted in the criminal case, let the respondents No.1&2 take an appropriate decision on the claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment at the earliest preferably within a period of four months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
