The present Writ Petition has been filed by the Petitioner alleging inaction on the part of the Respondents in not considering the claim of the Petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment.

According to learned Counsel for Petitioner, the father of the Petitioner was working on the post of Panchayat Secretary and died in harness on 26.3.2010 and since then the Petitioner has been pursuing his claim for grant of compassionate appointment with the Respondents and the application also has been processed to some extent by the authorities concerned, though in the past the claim of the mother of the Petitioner has been rejected on her being not found suitably qualified for the employment.

Given the facts and circumstances of the case, the Writ Petition at this juncture is disposed of directing the Respondents No. 2 & 4 to take appropriate steps in considering the application for compassionate appointment moved by the Petitioner, in accordance with the policy for compassionate appointment represented at the time of death of the deceased employee. Let a decision in this regard be taken by the Respondents at the earliest, in accordance with the rules and scheme governing the field, within a period of ninety days from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

Writ Petition accordingly stands disposed of with the aforesaid observations.
