The grievance of the petitioner is to the inaction on the part of the respondent authorities in not taking a decision on the representation made on 29.9.2021(Annexure P2) till date.

It is contended by the petitioner that her father namely-Tikam Dwivedi, who was performing his duties as Helper/Lineman in the respondents' department has died on 17.9.2021 as he came into contact with the electric wire. It is contented further that immediately after the sad demise of her father, the petitioner has moved an application on 29.9.2021, seeking compassionate appointment as well as the amount of compensation, however, the same has not been decided till date. Learned counsel for the petitioner, therefore, prays for disposal of this petition with a direction to the concerned respondent authorities to decide the said

representation within the stipulated period.

In view of the above, this Court feels that no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the petition pending as it can be disposed of at this stage itself. 5.

Accordingly, this petition is disposed of by directing respondent No.2Executive Engineer, Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board, Bilaspur to take an appropriate decision on the said representation of the petitioner as soon as possible, preferably within a period of three months from the date of communication/receipt of the copy of this order. 6.

It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on merits of the case while disposing of this petition and the concerned authority shall decide the said representation in accordance with law. 7.

With the aforesaid observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of at the admission stage itself.
