The relief sought for in the present petition is for a direction to the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioner for compassionate appointment.

Perusal of records show that the claim of the petitioner at the first instance itself was rejected way back on 23.09.2003 vide Annexure P/3. The present petition now has been filed after about 15 years. The present writ petition therefore suffers from delay and laches and the same deserves to be dismissed on this ground alone.

Accordingly, the petition stands dismissed on the ground of delay and laches.
