1. The grievance in the present writ petition is to the GPF account of the petitioner. The petitioner was working on the post of Female Supervisor from the office of the respondent No. 5 and she was retired on 31.05.2018.

2. According to the petitioner, after her retirement, she has been paid all her retiral dues except for the GPF amount and vide the impugned order Annexure P/1, she has been shown to have a negative balance

of Rs. 1,42,392/- which the respondents have asked the petitioner to deposit. According to the petitioner the said negative balance shown in the GPF account is not proper in as much as from the information that she has received from his department that there was a credit balance more than nine lakh in her account i.e. an amount of Rs. 9,85,792/- to be precise. According to the petitioner, though in the past, there have been some withdrawal made by her from the GPF account but not to the extent of exhausting the entire GPF fund that was available in her credit and the issue thus needs verification and also an enquiry proceedings.

3. Given the aforesaid submission by the counsel for the petitioner, this Court is of the opinion that the issue involved in a case is one which could need to be verified and enquired at the level of the office of the respondents No. 2 & 5.

4. Let the respondent No. 2 call for details of the GPF account of the petitioners that is available in the office of the respondents 3 & 5 and shall duly verify and scrutiny the same with the records available in the office of the respondent No. 2.

5. The scrutiny should also be done on the issue whether there has been genuine withdrawal made by the petitioner or not or whether there has been any fraudulent withdrawal reflected or made from the GPF account of the petitioner. Let an enquiry in this regard be done by the respondent No. 2 to 5 within a period of four months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

6. The respondents No. 2 to 5 are also expected to call upon the petitioner in the course of scrutiny so as to give an opportunity of

hearing to the petitioner also in the course of redressal of her grievance. Subsequently, if any payment is found payable to the petitioner from her GPF account, the said amount should be forthwith released to the petitioner without any further delay.
