1. The dispute in the present writ petition is the not granting joining to the petitioner after a brief period of absent on account of illness.

2. The matter came up for hearing on the previous date and this Court had directed the counsel for the respondents to seek instructions. The counsel for the respondents today on instructions submits that on the petitioner's making a suitable representation, in addition to what has already been made, the said representation would be considered and decided at the earliest.

3. On the said submission, this Court is of the opinion that nothing further remains to be decided in the present writ petition. Reserving the right of the respondents to decide the representation at the earliest within a period of 3 weeks from today.

4. Needless to mention that the factual position as on date is that there is no departmental enquiry or any order for punishment operating against the petitioner. The petitioner undoubtedly was absent from duty and if she has reported thereafter with sufficient cogent documents, it is incumbent upon the respondents to verify the said documents and pass a suitable order. Without taking a decision, the respondents simply cannot refuse joining to the petitioner. Therefore it is also directed that the respondent No.1 shall take a prompt decision for granting joining to the petitioner leaving open the issue so far as taking appropriate disciplinary action for the period of absence, if it is found to be unauthorized.
