The present is an application seeking extension of time so far as the order dated 28.08.2019 passed in WPS No. 6537/2019. 2.

The claim of the non-applicant herein, the original petitioner was in respect of dependent employment under the present applicants. The writ petition was disposed of directing the company to decide within a period of 90 days.

The present MCC now has been filed after a period of 16 months i.e. almost after 1 1⁄2 years. In between many 90 days duration have lapsed, yet the applicants could not take a decision to comply with the directives given by this Court. This Court is surprised with

the manner in which the applicants are discharging their duties. Of course, this Court is aware of the fact that in between there was the effect of COVID-19 pandemic, which must have affected the function of the applicants-Establishment to some extent, but not so severe that the Establishment itself was closed for all thee period which deprived them from taking a decision.

Reluctantly, though the present application is allowed. The applicants are granted 45 days time for complying with the order, failing which it would amount to a clear non-compliance of the order passed by this Court.
