1. The applicant has preferred this bail application for grant of bail as he is arrested in connection with Crime No.147/2016 registered at Police Station Baghbehra, District Mahasamund for offences under Sections 420, 467, 468 & 471 of the IPC.
2. It is alleged that the present applicant along with co-accused I.S. Thakur, K.K. Sonwani, R.N. Verma, Purshottam and Nathu Mahanand have misappropriated/embezzled a sum of Rs.2.5 lakhs by allowing the beneficiaries under the Indira Awas Yogna to obtain financial assistance for second time even though on earlier occasion they had already obtained the benefit. This was done by opening a fresh bank account in the name of the beneficiaries.
3. Considering the fact that the applicant is in jail since 18.7.2017; charge sheet has already been filed and the offences are triable by the JMFC, this Court is inclined to release him on bail.
4. Accordingly, the application is allowed and the applicant is directed to be released on bail on his executing a personal bond for a sum of Rs.25,000/- with one surety for the like amount to the satisfaction of the trial Court. He is directed to appear before the trial Court on each and every date given by the said Court.
