Claim of the petitioner in the present writ petition is for a direction to the respondents for grant of compassionate appointment. 2.

At the outset, this Court is not inclined to entertain the present writ petition for more than one reasons. The death of the deceased employee took place on 28.7.1996. The petitioner is not the son of the deceased employee. The petitioner claims to be an adopted son of the deceased employee. However, the date of adoption is of the period subsequent to the death of the deceased employee. Moreover, what also cannot be brushed aside is the fact that the petitioner as on date is more than 50 years of age. Under all permissible limit, the maximum age limit for grant of employment even if it is for grant of compassionate appointment would be 45 years. Under the circumstances, the petitioner would not under any circumstances be eligible for grant of compassionate appointment. 3.

The writ petition thus being devoid of merits deserves to be and is accordingly dismissed.
