2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that despite completion of the term, for which, the contract for supply of
mid-day meal was awarded to 14 different Societies, they are still continuing the supply and the competent authority is not inviting fresh application for execution of fresh contract.
3. Learned counsel for the State would submit that the contract in favour of 14 different Societies must have been renewed because unless there is a renewal, the authorities would not be in a position to release funds in favour of the Societies for payment in lieu of the supply made by them.
4. Considering the entire facts situation of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with direction that if the contract for supply of mid-day meal to Government Pre-Middle School, Rawabhata and the Primary School, Achholi is not subsisting, the authorities may initiate proceedings for inviting fresh applications. However, if the contract in favour of the existing Societies are continuing, the authorities may not invite fresh applications till the contract period is operational.
