The grievance of the petitioner is to the inaction on the part of the respondent authorities in not taking a decision on her representation made on 21.06.2021 (Annexure P/1) till date.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the father of the petitioner, namely, Yadram Yogi, who was working as a Lecturer (LB) at Government Higher Secondary School, Nartora, District Mahasamund, has died on 22.04.2021 during the course of his employment due to Covid-19 pandemic. It is contended further that immediately after the sad demise of the father, the petitioner has moved an application seeking for her

appointment on compassionate ground on 21.06.2021 (Annexure P/1) before the District Education Officer, Mahasamund (respondent No.2), however, the same has not been decided till date. Counsel appearing for the petitioner, therefore, prays that a direction may be issued to the said authority to decide the said application/representation within the stipulated period. 3.

Shri Amit Buxy, learned counsel appearing for the respondents/State has raised no objection with respect to the aforesaid limited prayer of the petitioner.

In view of above, this Court feels that no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the petition pending as it can be disposed of at this stage itself. Accordingly, the petition is disposed of by directing the respondent No.2 - District Education Officer, Mahasamund to decide the said application/representation dated 21.06.2021 (Annexure P/1) as made by the petitioner for her appointment on compassionate ground owing to sad demise of her father - Yadram Yogi, within a period of 90 days from the date of communication of this order.

It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion on merits of the case and the concerned respondent authority shall decide the same on its own merits in accordance with law. 6.

With the aforesaid direction, the present writ petition stands disposed of.
