The instant petition is filed for the reason that the petitioner in M.A. (History) secured the highest marks in handicapped category and the respondent University is to award gold medal to the candidate who has secured the highest number in handicap category but the petitioner's case has not been considered.

It is contended that the petitioner is not claiming the gold metal on the basis of regulation framed by the University; it is only confined on the ground that he secured the highest number in the handicapped category. Therefore, the donor who has donated the amount to give gold metal to the person who secures highest number in handicapped category should be given to the petitioner since he has secured 69.75 marks in M.A. (History) in the year 2017-18 and was topper in the handicapped category. Learned counsel further submits that the grant of gold medal to the handicapped will promote their class and spirit and as per the news time published since the

respondent was looking for the names, the petitioner belongs to such category; therefore, the present petition.

Learned counsel for the respondent submits that the convocation ceremony has been fixed and the petitioner in the meanwhile may make an application today itself, which shall be decided in due course. 4.

Taking into all the facts, it is directed that the petitioner, if make such application, the same shall be decided taking into fact that the convocation ceremony is fixed tomorrow.

With such direction, the petition stands disposed of. Certified copy today.
