The limited prayer that the petitioner has made in the present writ petition is for an appropriate direction to respondent no.1 to decide the departmental appeal that the petitioner has preferred.

According to the petitioner, he has been inflicted with the punishment of stoppage of 7 annual increments with cumulative effect vide order dated 9.12.2018. The petitioner immediately preferred an appeal to respondent no.1 on 4.2.2019 which is still pending consideration. 3.

Given the aforesaid limited prayer that the petitioner has made, this Court is of the opinion that ends of justice would meet if the respondent no.1 is directed to decide the appeal of the petitioner at the earliest, preferably within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 4.
