1. The grievance raised by the petitioners in the instant case is for correction of date of appointment in the service record on the post of Sub-Engineer.

2. The claim of the petitioners is based upon some decisions rendered by the erstwhile State of Madhya Pradesh and subsequently by the State of Chhattisgarh in the case of one similarly placed person namely Ravindra Kumar Sharma.

3. According to the petitioners they have already made a detailed representation Annexure P/5 to the respondent No.2 in this regard.

4. Given the facts that the petitioners have already made a representation, reserving the right of the petitioners to prefer another representation, if they so choose to the respondent No.2, the respondent No.2 in turn is directed to take a decision on the said representation at the earliest preferably within a period of 4 months from the date of receipt of the order passed by this Court.

5. It shall be the responsibility of the petitioner to appraise the respondent No.2 so far as the order passed by this Court is concerned.

6. With the aforesaid observations, the present writ petition stands disposed off.
