1. The petitioner contends that the petitioner is working as Assistant Professor with the respondent University. It is stated that the petitioner is holding Ph.D and according to the UGC guidelines of 28.06.2010, the petitioner was entitled for upgradation from Stage-1 to Stage-2 which would entitle him for higher pay-scale. It is stated that though the petitioner has been granted the said benefit however one year's arrears still remains, therefore, representation has been made to the University which may be directed to be decided according to the norms of the UGC guidelines.

2. Considering the limited prayer made, no purpose would be served to keep the petition pending since the representation is already pending, therefore,

the University is directed to decide the entitlement of the petitioner to the touchstone of the guidelines of the UGC dated 28.06.2010. The petitioner shall be further entitled to make a fresh representation within a period of two weeks, if so advised, and if such representation is made, the same would be decided within a further period of 60 days.
