1. The limited grievance that the petitioner has in the present writ petition is for an appropriate direction to the respondents to consider the request of the petitioner for change of date of birth of the petitioner in Class 10th Marksheet which has been issued by the respondent and thereby to issue a fresh grade sheet cum certificate of performance.

2. According to the petitioner, his actual date of birth is 12.08.2000 whereas inadvertently in Class 10th Marksheet (Grade Sheet Cum Certificate of Performance) it has been mentioned as 12.08.2002. The grievance of the petitioner is that he has cleared 10th Board

-2Examination in the year 2016 and on 26.02.2016 itself he had made a request for correction of his date of birth. The school from which the petitioner has studied had also sent a letter dated 24.06.2016 to the respondent for correction of the date of birth and for issuance of a new certificate in this regard. However, thereafter there has been no further development in spite of the petitioner as well as the school authorities repeatedly corresponding with the respondent.

Given the limited grievance that the petitioner has and the fact that except the mark sheet of Class 10th the entire records that the petitioner has, shows his date of birth to be 12.08.2000 instead of 12.08.2002, this Court is thus of the opinion that a strong case for grant of the relief sought for has been made out.

4. Accordingly, it is directed that the respondent shall consider and decide the claim of the petitioner for correction of his date of birth at the earliest preferably within a period of 4 months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
