1. The relief that the petitioner has sought for in the present writ petition is for a direction to the respondents for releasing of certain seized documents which were seized by the Police authorities.

2. Perusal of the record would show that petitioner already had an order in his favour by the Concerned District Magistrate, District Durg dated 18.02.1997.

3. Given the fact that petitioner had an order from the Concerned Magistrate in the year 1997 and present writ petition is being filed after 22 years i.e. in 2019, this Court finds that the writ petition has been filed at a belated stage. 22 years is a very long time for anybody to approach the Court for ventilating his grievance when he had an order in his favour from the concerned District Magistrate.

4. With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition stands dismissed on the ground of delay.
