1. The grievance of the petitioners in the instant case is that the benefit of 6th Pay Commission has not been extended to the petitioners though they retired from service after 01.01.2006 i.e. the date on which the revised pay scale as per 5th Pay Commission was implemented.

2. Considering the fact that the petitioners are senior citizens and they had retired long back more than 10 years ago, this Court is of the opinion that no fruitful purpose would serve by admitting the petition and keeping it pending. Rather ends of justice would serve if the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondents 1 & 2 to immediately scrutinize the claim of the petitioners for grant of the benefit of revised pay scale w.e.f. 01.01.2006. In case, the petitioner are entitled for the same, appropriate relief should be granted to the petitioners at the earliest preferably within a period of 4 months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
