The claim of the petitioner in the present writ petition is for a direction to the respondents to consider his claim for compassionate appointment. The case of the petitioner is that his father died in harness on 25/6/2018. Thereafter, he has moved an application for compassionate appointment which the respondents have returned stating that the petitioner may not be entitled for the same and the benefit can be extended to the widow of the deceased employee. Subsequently, the widow that is mother of the petitioner and wife of the deceased employee had again given the consent to the department that she is not interested for employment for personal reasons and she wants that employment be given to her son. Said application is still pending, consideration before the authorities. 2.

Given the said facts and circumstances of the case, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, so far as the entitlement of the petitioner is concerned. Let respondents No. 2 & 3 take a decision on the claim of the

petitioner at the earliest in accordance with the rules governing the subject compassionate appointment.
