1. The claim of the petitioner through this writ petition is for a direction to the respondents to consider his claim for grant of equal pay for equal work at par with regular Data Entry Operator working under the State Government.

2. The contention of the petitioner is that the petitioner has been working with the respondents as Data Entry Operator on daily wage basis for a period of about 17-18 years but he is being paid only on daily wages as fixed by the Collector.

3. The limited relief which the petitioner has sought for in the present writ petition is for a direction to the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner in light of the recent judgment by the Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No. 10956 of 2018 decided on 14.11.2018 in the case

of Sabha Shanker Dube vs. Divisional Forest Officer & Ors. In the limited relief sought for by the petitioner, this Court is of the opinion that ends of justice would be served if the writ petition is disposed off directing the respondents to consider the case of the petitioner for grant of equal pay for equal work in the light of the judgment of the Supreme Court in the case of Sabha Shanker Dube (supra) and also in the case of State of Punjab & Ors. vs. Jagjit Singh & Ors.1

4. Let an appropriate decision be taken by the respondents within a period of four months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5. With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition stands disposed off.

6. No order as to costs.
