The claim of the petitioner is for grant of compassionate appointment. The claim is on the death of her brother Aditya Kumar Sahu who working as Constable at the Police Department, died in naxalite attack on 11.03.2014. 2.

The Petitioner's case was considered and she was offered appointment to the post of Constable(G.D.). However, the petitioner had moved an application to the authorities to consider her claim for grant of appointment on the post of Assistant Sub-Inspector(M).

It is the contention of the petitioner that her representation which she has made on 06.09.2017(Annexure P-4) is till date not decided and is pending consideration.

Given the facts and circumstances of the case without expressing any opinion on the merits so far as entitlement of the petitioner for compassionate appointment is concerned, the present writ petition stands disposed off with direction to the respondent No. 2 to take a decision on the claim of the petitioner

for compassionate appointment at the earliest preferably within a period of 90 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 3.
