When the present writ petition was filed on 17.12.2019, the prayer of the petitioner was for an appropriate direction to the respondent to consider and decide his application dated 31.5.2018 which was remitted to the authority as per the order passed by the State Transport Appellate Tribunal in Appeal No. 66/2019. 2.

Pending the matter before the respondent, the subsequent development that has transpired is that the post of the Regional Transport Authority at Bilaspur has been abolished and the State Government has appointed the Transport Commissioner as the Regional Transport Authority for the entire State. 3.

Given the said facts, the prayer which the petitioner had then made cannot be entertained at this juncture. However, since the matters which were pending before the Regional Transport Authority, Bilaspur under the new mechanism would have to be transferred to the newly appointed Transport authority at Raipur, let the respondent take appropriate steps for transferring the case of the petitioner which includes necessary orders for calling for the records of the Regional Transport Authority, Bilaspur and the newly authorised Authority to take a decision on the application of the petitioner, dated 31.5.2018, at the earliest, preferably within a period of sixty days from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 4.

It shall be the responsibility of the petitioner to apprise the appropriate authority now constituted by the State Government regarding the order passed by this Court today.
