By virtue of the present petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS), the petitioner seeks issuance of a Writ, order, or direction in the nature of Mandamus thereby directing the respondents, particularly the Commissioner of Police, Delhi and Deputy Commissioner of Police, West District, New Delhi, to immediately provide Round-theClock Armed Security Protection (at least two armed paramilitary/ police personnel with immediate access to firearms) to the petitioner and his family members, at their residence situated at M-60, Gali No. 6, New Mahavir Nagar, Tilak Nagar, Delhi-110 018 as well as to provide security to petitioner while commuting for his professional duties. After substantial arguments, learned ASC for the State, without adverting to the merits involved, submits that if the petitioner is able to give a representation within a period of one week, Delhi Police is willing to cooperate within all the possible means after adjudicating upon the same.

In view of the aforesaid, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks, and is grated, a period of one week for making a representation to the DCP, West, which, as per instructions, learned ASC for the State submits that shall be decided expeditiously, preferably within a period of two weeks or earlier.

In view of the aforesaid, learned counsel for the petitioner seeks to withdraw the present petition with liberty to approach this Court, if, as and when required.

Accordingly, the present petition is dismissed as withdrawn with liberty as prayed for.
