By way of the instant petition, the petitioner seeks issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent/competent authority to consider the name of petitioner for pre-mature release in the upcoming Sentence Review Board Meeting.

Issue notice. The learned ASC accepts notice on behalf of the State. 5.

It is stated that the respondent did not send the name of the petitioner to the SRB telling him that his case falls under the category 'rape', however the same is not correct as the case of the petitioner is not under the said category. Therefore, it is prayed that the present petition be allowed and the name of the present petitioner be sent in the next scheduled meeting of Sentence Review Board.

After hearing the arguments addressed on behalf of the petitioner and the State, this Court directs that in the next scheduled meet of Sentence Review Board, the case of the petitioner shall be taken up and disposed of in accordance with law.
