The petitioner's grievance is that despite repeated requests, the respondent Customs authorities have not passed any order finally assessing the Bill of Entry (BoE) no. 5134330 dated 07.04.2014. A consequential direction to the Customs authorities to release the bank guarantee is also sought.

The Customs authorities are directed to ensure that the BoE in question is finally assessed within eight weeks from today. The Registry is directed to communicate the order dated 20.02.2018 to the Assistant Commissioner of Customs (Group-7), ICD, Tughalakabad, New Delhi.

All rights and contentions of the petitioner are reserved. The writ petition is partly allowed in the above terms. Order dasti.
