The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that the trial in FIR No. 10/2015 under Sections 3 and 4 of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999 registered with PS Special Cell, Lodhi Road be expedited and directed to be completed within a period of six months. 2.

A status report has been filed, which indicates that two hundred witnesses are required to be examined, out of which, thirteen witnesses have already been examined and the evidence of fourteen witnesses has been adopted by the petitioner/accused persons.

It is also seen that the Trial Court has fixed several consecutive, which indicates that an endeavour is being made to complete the trial expeditiously. 3.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner also informs this Court that the Trial Court has given directions to the prosecution to set out the list of witnesses that are not specifically relevant as far as the petitioner

is concerned.

Given the nature of the allegations and the extent of evidence, this Court does not consider it apposite to fix any time for completion of the trial. However, the Trial Court is requested to complete the trial as expeditiously as possible and, preferably, within a period of one year from today.
