Further to the order dated 21.05.2025, Mr. Vasanth Rajasekaran, learned Senior Standing Counsel for respondent - Jawaharlal Nehru University ["University"], instructed by Mr. Deepak Arya, Assistant Registrar of the University, who is present in Court, states that the submissions made on behalf of the University with regard to the proceedings in Manoj Pant and Ors. vs. Jawaharlal Nehru University [W.P.(C.) No.2989/2010] were made in error.

Mr. Arya's apology is accepted, albeit with a strict caution that instructions given in Court proceedings must be rendered responsibly and only after due verification.

As regards the petitioner's retirement dues, Mr. Rajasekaran states that the dues will be released within a period of two weeks from today, subject to the retention of Rs.33,33,416/-, which the University claims from the petitioner on account of occupation and electricity charges for the University accommodation.

The legality of the said claim is the subject matter of W.P.(C) 7596/2023, and the retention of the aforesaid amount will be subject to orders in the said writ petition.

The University is directed to remit the balance amount of the petitioner's retirement dues to her within a period of two weeks from today, alongwith its computation of dues.

If the petitioner has any grievance with regard to the computation of her dues, the parties will endeavour to resolve the same amicably, failing which, the petitioner may seek appropriate remedies in accordance with law. 7.

The writ petition stands disposed of in terms of the above directions. W.P.(C) 7596/2023 8.
