The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to respondent nos. 1 and 2 to provide police protection to the petitioner and her family as they apprehend harm to their life and personal liberty at the hands of respondent nos.4 and 5. 3.

According to the petitioner, the disputes with respondent nos. 4 and 5 stem from illegal construction that is being raised by respondent nos. 4 and 5 in the vicinity of their residence. The petitioner states that she had objected to raising of the said construction and this has led respondent no.4 to

threaten the petitioner.

The petitioner had filed a complaint against respondent no. 4 on 23.09.2019, that was followed by the petitioner filing several complaints to various authorities including Delhi Pollution Control Committee and Deputy Commissioner, North Delhi Municipal Corporation. The petitioner is aggrieved as no action has been taken pursuant to the said complaints. 5.

The petitioner also alleges that respondent no.4 has been using obscene language against the petitioner.

This Court is also informed that respondent no.4 has also filed a FIR against the son of the petitioner.

It is not necessary for this Court to examine the merits of the relevant FIRs in these proceedings. However, since the petitioner alleges that she and her family are being threatened by respondent nos.4 and 5 and further she has also been intimidated by certain labourers engaged by respondent nos.4 and 5, this Court considers it apposite to direct the concerned SHO to examine the complaint of the petitioner and provide the petitioner and her family such security as he considers necessary. The SHO shall also make necessary inquiries and ensure that if any illegal construction activity is going on as complained by the petitioner, the same is prevented and the necessary report is made to North Delhi Municipal Corporation. 8.

The petition is disposed of with the aforesaid observations. 9.
