By way of the present petition filed under Section 29A (4) & (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 (hereinafter, referred to as 'A&C Act'), the petitioner seeks extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by a period of one year for conclusion of the arbitral proceedings and making of the arbitral award.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the present Arbitral Tribunal's mandate is set to expire on 28.02.2025. 3.

Learned counsel who appears on behalf of the respondents on advance copy, accepts notice and submits that the respondent has no objection to the prayer made in the petition.

Learned counsels for the parties submit that the arbitral proceedings are at the stage of cross-examination of the respondent's sole witness, which is now scheduled for 18.01.2025 and 19.01.2025. 6.

Considering the aforesaid request and no objection given by the other side, the present petition is allowed and the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal be extended by a period of one year from the date of expiry of the ongoing mandate i.e, 28.02.2025.
