The present petition has been filed seeking quashing of FIR No.272/2013 registered under Sections 420/467/468/471/120B IPC at P.S. Saket, Delhi, on the premise that the parties have entered into a settlement vide Compromise Deed dated 16.05.2018, a copy of which has been placed on record.

Learned counsel for respondent No.2 submits that as per the terms of the settlement, the petitioner was required to pay a sum of Rs.55,00,000/-, however, only a sum of Rs.8,00,000/- has been paid till date and, therefore, denies the settlement as well as the prayer of quashing made in the present petition.

Considering that the present petition has been premised only on the grounds of reaching an amicable settlement and in view of the statement made by learned counsel for respondent No.2 today, I find no ground to keep the petition pending. Accordingly, the same is dismissed alongwith the pending application.

Needless to state that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the case. In case the parties reach a settlement at a later stage, the petitioner shall be at liberty to approach the Court again.
