The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued for release of the petitioner on parole for a period of ninety days on account of the medical condition of his father. 2.
The petitioner was convicted by an order dated 23.09.2009 and was sentenced to life imprisonment.
The status report has been filed, which indicates that it has been verified that the petitioner's father, namely, Mange Ram, is under treatment for knee replacement at Pt. B. D. Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak. The petitioner's address has also been verified and found to be correct. The status report also indicates that younger son of the petitioner's father and his grandson are also attending to the petitioner's father.

In view of the above, this Court directs the competent authority to consider the petitioner's application for parole and decide the same as
expeditiously as possible and preferably, within a period of one week from today.

The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. 5.
