O.M.P.(MISC.)(COMM.) 31/2024 By way of the present petition filed under section 29A of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act 1996, the petitioner seeks extension of the mandate of learned Sole Arbitrator, which is stated to expire on 20.01.2024.

have been continuing and the matter is presently at the stage of final arguments which are likely to conclude soon.

Counsel submits that the parties have granted to the learned Sole Arbitrator a consensual extension; and no extension has been sought from the court so far.

Mr. Attin Shankar Rastogi, learned counsel appears on behalf of the respondent, on advance copy; accepts notice; and submits that they have no objection to the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator being extended as prayed for.

Upon a conspectus of the averments contained in the petition and the submissions made, the petition is allowed; and the mandate of the learned Sole Arbitrator is extended for a period of 06 months from 21st January 2024, as prayed for, with a request to the learned Sole Arbitrator to conclude the proceedings by that time. 7.

The petition is accordingly disposed-of.
