% 24.12.2019 Vide this petition, petitioner is seeking parole for three months to perform the last rites and ceremonies of his sister, who is said to have expired on 21st December, 2019.
Notice.
Mr.
Rajesh Mahajan, Additional Standing Counsel, for respondent/State accepts notice and submits that status report dated 24th December, 2019 has been placed on record and factum of death of petitioner's sister stands verified.
In view of above, this petition is allowed and in the interest of justice, petitioner is granted three weeks' parole from the date of his release to enable him to perform last rites and rituals upon death of his sister and to take care of his old aged mother on his furnishing bail bond W.P.(CRL) 3612/2019
in the sum of Rs.10,000/- with one surety in the like amount to the satisfaction of the Jail Superintendent, subject to the following conditions:
i) The petitioner shall provide his mobile phone number to the Jail Superintendent at the time of his release, which shall be kept in working conditions at all the times. The same shall not be changed without prior intimation to the Jail Superintendent;
ii) The petitioner shall report at the local police station to mark his attendance on every alternate day at 11:00 a.m. during the period of parole;
iii) The petitioner shall duly surrender at the end of the period of parole; and iv) The petitioner shall also not indulge in any criminal activity while on parole.
