This is a petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking the following reliefs:

a) Issue an appropriate writ, order or direction, including a writ of Mandamus, directing Respondent No.1, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to forthwith register the Petitioners and include their names in the List of Candidates (LOC) for the Class XII Board Examination for the Academic Session 2025-2026;

b) to issue an appropriate writ, order or direction, including a writ of Mandamus, directing Respondents to permit the Petitioners to take all necessary steps including issuance of The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. admit card, so as to enable the petitioners to appear in the Class XII Board Examination to be conducted by respondent CBSE, including in all practical and theory examinations...;"

It is stated by Mr. Naagar, learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioners, who are 5 students in Class XII in respondent No. 2 school, were not registered with the Central Board of Secondary Education ("CBSE").

As a result, the students are not being permitted to participate in the Classs XII Examination scheduled in February/ March 2026. 4.

Ms. Singh, learned counsel for the respondent No. 1 has made efforts and has ensured that the petitioners will be permitted to appear for the Class XII Board Examinations for the academic year 2025-2026, including the practical examinations.

The fair stand of the CBSE as well as Ms. Singh, learned counsel for the respondent No. 1 is well appreciated.

The petition is disposed of granting liberty to respondent No 1 to imitate appropriate action against the respondent No. 2 for dereliction of statutory obligation and for putting the academic careers of the petitioners in jeopardy.
