% 04.03.2016 The present is a petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying as follows:- " ..a. To direct the S.H.O. Police Station Gandhi Nagar to provide police protection to the petitioners.

b. any other remedy which this Hon'ble Court deems fit in the facts light of the above said facts and circumstances." [W.P.(CRL) 70/2016] [page 1 of 2]

The petitioners are a newly married couple, had instituted this petition on an apprehension that Respondent No.2, the father of Petitioner No.1; and Respondent No. 3, the maternal uncle of Petitioner No.1, were extending threats to the life and limb of the newly-wed couple since they were vehemently opposed to the union of Petitioner No.1 & 2. Respondent No. 2 & 3, who are present in-person, in court today and are represented by Mr. J.S.Kanwar, Advocate, state that they have no objection to the marriage between the petitioners to the present petition and in fact give the newly-wed couple their blessings. They further state in unison that the newly-wed couple need not apprehend any threat at their hands. The statement on behalf of the said respondents is accepted. Mr. Rahul Mehra, learned standing counsel, appearing on behalf of the police states that adequate police protection has already been afforded to the petitioners herein.
