The limited relief sought by the petitioners is that the respondent be directed to comply with notice bearing No. ALC-1/8(01-Online)/2026 dated 08.01.2026 and refrain from changing the service conditions of the petitioners during the pendency of the Industrial Disputes. 2.

Learned counsel for the respondent, who appears on advance notice, accedes that the service conditions of the petitioners shall not be altered to their detriment during the pendency of the Industrial Disputes. It is pointed out that in terms of Section 33(1)(a) of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, no employer shall alter the conditions of service during the pendency of proceedings before a conciliation officer or a board or any proceedings before an Arbitrator or a labour Court or a Tribunal, and this mandate shall be strictly adhered to.
