Perusal of the record shows that the parole of the petitioner has been extended from time to time. Through an order dated 20.12.2023 in W.P. (Crl.) 1533/2023, parole of four weeks was granted to the petitioner which expired on 17.01.2024. Further, vide order dated 16.01.2024, a Coordinate Bench of this Court extended the parole of the petitioner and the same was extended till 25.01.2024. Again vide order dated 25.01.2024 passed by this Court, the same was extended till today.

Status report dated 02.02.2024, authored by Insp. Jeetendra Tiwari, SHO, P.S. Welcome, Dehi, has been placed on record. As per the status said report, the response of Professor and Head of Hematology, AIIMS has been placed on record wherein it is stated that the petitioner is suffering from The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. Polycythemia, a type of myeloproliferative neoplasm. It is further stated in the said report that there is no surgical intervention (operation) required for polycythemia management. It is further stated that the patient requires regular follow up for further management. As per the nominal roll, the present petitioner has been on parole since 07.05.2022, which is extended till date.

In view of the above, the parole of the petitioner is extended for a period of ten days. The petitioner shall surrender before the concerned Jail Authorities on 16.02.2024 at 4.00 P.M.

In view of the above, the writ petition is partly allowed and disposed of.

A copy of this order be sent to the concerned Jail Superintendent for necessary information and compliance.
