This writ petition claiming to be filed in public interest seeks issuance of writ of mandamus directing the respondents concerned W.P.(C) 170/2018

to take steps to incorporate and extend coverage of insurance to the External Counter Pulsation (ECP) treatment under various health insurance medi-claim policies offered by them. To our mind, this is an issue which requires policy changes which is required to be undertaken by the respondents. 2.

The writ petitioner has placed on record a copy of the letter dated 17th February, 2017 (at page 76) addressed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to the petitioner informing him that the suggestions made by him have been forwarded to the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India - respondent no.2 herein. 3.

Therefore, it appears that the issues flagged by the petitioner are pending consideration with the respondents and a view has to be taken by them.

In view of the above facts, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent nos.1 to 3 to take a view on the issues flagged by the writ petitioner and communicate the same to the petitioner within a period of four months from today. Dasti.
