The petitioners have filed the present petition, inter alia, praying that directions be issued to respondent nos. 1 to 4 to provide protection to the petitioners. The petitioners are apprehensive about their safety at the hands of respondent nos. 5 to 8, who are the relatives of petitioner no.1. It is the petitioners' case that they are majors and have married against the wishes of the relatives of petitioner no.1. They fear for their safety at the hands of these relatives.

In the aforesaid context, the present petition has been filed seeking

protection from the police authorities. It is also alleged that respondent nos. 5 to 8 have extended threats to the petitioners. In view of the averments made in the present petition, respondent no.2 (S.H.O, P.S. Malviya Nagar) is directed to make the necessary inquiries and afford the petitioners such protection, within the jurisdiction of PS Malviya Nagar, as he considers necessary after evaluating the threat perception. The concerned SHO shall provide a mobile number of the Beat Constable to the petitioners in order to enable them to contact him in case of emergency. 5.

The petition is disposed of.
