The present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (in short, 'Cr.P.C.'), seeking a direction to the respondent nos. 1 and 2 to provide necessary police protection/security to the petitioners against threats received by them from the respondent no.3 and his associates. 2.

It is alleged that the son of the petitioner no.1 is missing since 30.12.2023 and the respondent no.3 has alleged that he has eloped along with his daughter. Due to the same, he is threatening the petitioners.

It is alleged that because of the threats, the petitioners in fact, had to move from the State of Uttar Pradesh to Delhi. The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the instant petition is presently confined to seeking relief of protection from the respondent no.1.

Notice is accepted by Ms.Nandita Rao, learned Additional Standing Counsel (Criminal) on behalf of the respondent no. 1. 7.

Considering the above facts and circumstances, it is directed that the telephone number of the SHO of the concerned police station as well as the concerned Beat Constable be provided by the SHO of the concerned Police Station to the petitioners during the course of the day.

In the event of any threats being perceived by the petitioners, they shall communicate the same to the concerned Beat Constable as well as the SHO on the aforesaid numbers, who shall take steps to provide security/protection to the petitioners, in accordance with law.
