% 22.01.2026 By way of the present petition filed under section 483 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023, the petitioner seeks extension of interim bail that was granted vidé order dated 18.12.2025 by the learned ASJ/Special Judge, NDPS Act, New Delhi District, Patiala House Courts, New Delhi, for 03 weeks, on the grounds mentioned in the application.

By order dated 17.01.2026, the learned sessions court has rejected an application filed by the petitioner seeking extension of the interim bail so granted.

Notice on the present petition was issued on 19.01.2026. 4.

The status report narrates that in response to the queries put by the Investigating Officer ('I.O.') to the attending doctor at Yogmaya Hospital, Mehrauli, New Delhi, the doctor has confirmed that after undergoing surgery on 04.01.2026, the petitioner's wife was discharged on 06.01.2026; but subsequently she had to be readmitted for removal of stitches, since she developed some infection. The doctor has further confirmed that after the procedure, the wife has been discharged again on 16.06.2026 but she has been advised complete bed-rest for 03 weeks.

Upon query, the I.O. who is present in court states, that there is no other adult member in the petitioner's family to look after his wife; and that the wife resides with their minor daughter. 7.
After hearing learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, as well as learned APP for the State, this court is persuaded to allow the present petition.

The interim bail granted to the petitioner vidé order dated 18.12.2025 by the learned sessions court is extended for a period of 02 (two) weeks beginning today, on the same conditions as were imposed by the learned sessions court earlier.

No further extension will be granted on the same ground. 10.
Petition is disposed-of in the above terms.
