relation to an unfortunate incident where on 09.01.2026, a staff member of the Saket District Court, Delhi, is said to have died. 4.

As per the reports, he committed suicide and had left a suicide note as well. The prayers made in the Writ Petition are that a direction be issued for lodging an FIR in respect of the said incident. 5.

It has also been prayed that a direction be issued to conduct judicial inquiry into the incident and also that the Respondent be directed to fill up the vacancies in the clerical staff in Delhi Courts. 6.

The reported incident is unfortunate.

We have been informed that the proceedings under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 ("BNSS") are going on and the report is awaited.

Accordingly, further action which may be warranted under law will depend on the outcome of the proceedings drawn under Section 194 of the BNSS, 2023.

Therefore, we do not find it appropriate at this juncture, to issue any direction for lodging of FIR.

We have further been informed by the learned Counsel representing Respondent No. 1 that appropriate steps are being taken by the High Court on its administrative side to fill up the vacancies and also to make an overall assessment of the requirement of the staff for the purpose of rationalising the distribution of work amongst clerical staff and the other employees. 11.

We have no doubt that such a course of action as stated by the learned Counsel for Respondent No. 1 shall be evolved within the shortest span of time and adequate steps shall also be taken to fill up the vacancies at the earliest.
