The petition under Section 482 of the CrPC has been filed seeking quashing of FIR No. 493/2022, under Sections 354/506/34 of the IPC, registered as P.S. Okhla Industrial Area.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the present FIR was registered on account of some dispute between the parties. It is pointed out that a cross FIR, being FIR No. 856/2022, under Sections 420/406 of the IPC, registered at PS Okhla Industrial Area, arising out of the said dispute was also registered at the instance of petitioner no.1 herein against respondent no.2. petitioners have entered into a settlement with respondent no. 2 vide a settlement agreement dated 15.07.2025 which has been placed on record and in pursuance of the said settlement, the parties have no objection in quashing of the present FIR as well as the aforesaid cross-FIR. 4.
As per the said settlement, respondent no. 2 has no objection if the present FIR is quashed and the petitioners have also undertaken to cooperate with respondent no. 2 with regard to quashing of FIR No. 856/2022, under Sections 420/406 of the IPC, registered at PS Okhla Industrial Area against respondent no. 2.

Copy of the Memorandum of Understanding ('MOU') dated 15.07.2025, has been placed on record, which records the settlement between the parties and their agreement to cooperate with each other in quashing of the FIRs. The parties have further undertaken to abide by their reciprocal obligations as agreed to in the aforesaid settlement. 6.
Petitioners and respondent no. 2 are present in person before the Court through video conferencing and have been duly identified by their respective counsels, as well as the Investigating Officer, W/SI Sunil, Okhla Industrial Area, New Delhi.

Complainant/respondent No.2 states that the matter has been settled with the petitioners and she has no objection if the FIR is quashed against the petitioners.

Learned APP for the State submits that investigation in the present FIR is pending and chargesheet is yet to be filed. 9.
In Gian Singh v. State of Punjab, (2012) 10 SCC 303, the Hon'ble Supreme Court has recognized the need of amicable resolution of disputes by observing as under:- The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
"61. ... In other words, the High Court must consider whether it would be unfair or contrary to the interest of justice to continue with the criminal proceedings or continuation of criminal proceedings would tantamount to abuse of process of law despite settlement and compromise between the victim and the wrongdoer and whether to secure the ends of justice, it is appropriate that criminal case is put to an end and if the answer to the above question(s) is in the affirmative, the High Court shall be well within its jurisdiction to quash the criminal proceeding." 10.
In view of the aforesaid circumstances, and that fact that the parties have put a quietus to the dispute, no useful purpose will be served in continuing with the present FIR No. 493/2022, under Sections 354/506/34 of the IPC, registered as P.S. Okhla Industrial Area. 11.
In the interest of justice, the petition is allowed, and the FIR No. 493/2022, under Sections 354/506/34 of the IPC, registered as P.S. Okhla Industrial Area, is hereby quashed. Petitioners shall adhere to their reciprocal objections as per MoU dated 15.07.2025.

Petition is allowed and disposed of accordingly. 13.
