By way of present petition under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (hereafter „BNSS‟), the petitioner seeks issuance of directions to the learned Trial Court for expeditious trial. It is pointed out that FIR in this case was registered in the year 2010, however, the charge-sheet was filed in the year 2018. Subsequently, charges were framed in this case on 07.08.2019. Thereafter, the learned Trial Court has examined one witness till date. under Section 91 Cr.P.C seeking production of certain documents due to which evidence could not be recorded on three dates. 4.
Considering the overall facts & circumstances of the case and the fact that FIR in this case was registered in the year 2010 and charges were framed about four years ago, this is one of the case where the learned Trial Court should conduct trial expeditiously.

Main Investigating Officer (IO) is not present today to assist the Court. It is, however, directed that the concerned IO as well as SHO will ensure that the summons which are sent to the witnesses for their appearance before the learned Trial Court will remain present. The learned Trial Court will ensure that the trial is conducted expeditiously and shall make every endeavour to conclude the trial within one year, subject to the condition that the learned counsel for the petitioner will not take any unnecessary adjournment for cross examination of the witnesses. 6.
The present petition stands disposed of.
