This petition is filed seeking quashing of FIR No.209/2020 under Sections 498-A/406/34 IPC registered at P.S. Rajinder Nagar, on the basis of settlement arrived at between the parties on 24th July 2023, which is on record of this Court.

Petitioner nos.1 and 2 are present through VC while petitioner no.3 and complainant/ respondent no.2 are present in the Court; all of whom are duly identified by the IO, as also by their respective counsels. 3.

Marriage of petitioner no.1 and Respondent no.2 was solemnised on 18th January 2019, which has since been dissolved by decree of divorce dated 7th November 2023. No child is born out of this wedlock. 4.

As per settlement, remaining amount 4,11,000/- is tendered to the respondent no.2 in the Court today by way of a Demand Draft No. 515853 dated 18th June 2024 drawn on ICICI Bank; she acknowledges the same and states that she has no objection to quashing of the FIR. Considering the above settlement between the parties and the chances of conviction of the petitioners being remote and bleak, there is no use continuing with proceedings of the present FIR as it would be a misuse of the process of the Court and an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer. Accordingly, the petition is allowed. Consequently, the FIR No.209/2020 under Sections 498-A/406/34IPC registered at P.S. Rajinder Nagar and proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Parties shall abide by the terms of settlement. 7.

Accordingly, the petition is disposed of. Pending applications, if any, are disposed of as infructuous.
