This petition is preferred on behalf of the Petitioner under Section 29A (4) and (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ('1996 Act') seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by a period of 06 months.

Disputes having arisen between the parties in respect of a Loan Facility under Channel Finance Agreement dated 27.01.2018, Sole Arbitrator was appointed for adjudication of the disputes. Pleadings were completed on 25.06.2022. By order dated 05.03.2024, this Court in O.M.P. (MISC.) (COMM.) 682/2023 extended the mandate till 31.12.2024. As per the averments in the petition, the arbitral proceedings are at the stage of final arguments, for which date has been fixed for 14.05.2025 and in this backdrop, extension of the mandate is sought. 3.

extended so that the arguments can be concluded and Arbitral Award can be passed.

Accordingly, with the consent of the parties and considering that the arbitral proceedings are at the stage of final arguments, mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended by a period of 06 months from 02.05.2025 and period between 01.01.2025 to 01.05.2025 is regularized. 5.

Petition is allowed and disposed of in the aforesaid terms.
