This petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (in short, 'Cr.P.C.'), seeking issuance of a direction to the respondents to provide necessary police protection/security to the petitioners from the threats of the family members of the petitioners.

It is stated that the petitioners were married on 08.01.2024 against the wishes of their respective family members, and subsequent to their marriage, when the petitioner no.1 informed her family members about the marriage, they threatened the petitioners as they did not appreciate this step of the petitioners. 3.

Issue notice.

Notice is accepted by Mr.Amol Sinha, the learned Additional Standing Counsel for the respondents.

Keeping in view the above facts and circumstances, and the averments in the petition, I find that the petitioners have been able to make out a case for grant of protection.

As the learned counsel for the petitioners submits that due to the threats, the petitioners are unable to reside at any permanent address for long, they shall disclose their current address to the learned counsel for the respondents, whereupon the respondents shall ensure that the telephone number of the SHO of the concerned Police Station and the Beat Constable is shared with the learned counsel for the petitioners and the petitioners.

In the event any threat is perceived by the petitioners, they shall communicate the same to the concerned Beat Constable as well as to the SHO on the aforesaid numbers so provided, who shall take steps to provide security/protection to the petitioners. 8.

In case the petitioners change their residence, they shall inform the SHO concerned, who shall in turn communicate the order with similar direction to the SHO of the concerned Police Station within the State of National Capital of Delhi within whose jurisdiction the petitioners have shifted.

The petition along with the pending application is disposed of with the above direction.
